There's No Fear in Love

Do you know what day I look forward to the most?

The day I cannot wait for (but can at the same time) is the day when I cross over from this life to the next. It’s the last day of my life, when I get to meet Jesus face to face.

Now don’t read this the wrong way- I don’t want to die today, or tomorrow. I want to live as long as possible and I want to fulfill the plans God has for me. Life is way too short. I don’t know the length of days God has planned out for me. I want to experience ALL he has for me. But at the same time, I am not afraid to die, and I CANNOT wait to meet my Savoir one day.

The point of me sharing this is this- I am not afraid of death. (I might be afraid of how I will go lol) but I am not afraid of what awaits for me on the other side. Why? Because I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that JESUS has prepared a place for me in heaven.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3

When you confess and repent of your sins with a genuine heart, and turn from those sins and live for Jesus, you have a home in heaven for eternity. Giving your life to Jesus is SO real and tangible that believers in Him know this is truth. I may not be able to explain the whole bible or why things happen in this life. I may not be able to give you all the answers to life’s questions, but I CAN tell you giving my life to Jesus Christ CHANGED me from the inside out. My life has been transformed and I can’t make that up.

When you have Jesus in your life, fear can no longer hold you down. There are SO many things to be afraid of in our world. Just turn on the news for 5 seconds and you will have a reason to live in fear. But Gods word commands us NOT to fear, and through his spirit alive in us, we can follow His word.

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18

The bible clearly states that perfect LOVE drives out fear, or “casts out” in some other translations. Right before this verse, the bible says “God is love” (1 John 4:16). If God is LOVE, and perfect LOVE drives out fear, my only conclusion is that when you encounter the love God has for you, you can be set free from the burden of fear forever.

Now, everyone experiences fear in one way or another. The emotion of fear is actually healthy and we need to remember God gave us our emotions- it was His design. Fear keeps you from walking down a dark alley or jumping off a high cliff. But, when it comes to our future or even death, we do not need to be afraid because Jesus is GREATER than anything this world could do to us!

If you are struggling with fear, I want to encourage you to give your life to Jesus. Surrender to Him fully and dive into reading His word every day. If you ARE a Christ follower and you struggle with fear, keep talking to Jesus about it. Discover what Gods word says about fear and allow the word of God to transform your mind. Trust me, I can understand the paralysis of fear. It can stop you dead in your tracks. But be reminded:

“Greater is HE who is in us than he who is in the world…”

1 John 4:4

God bless you!
